Buongiorno! The weather outside is warming up and we are spending more time outside, especially with our four-legged friends! Our dogs are like family, so why should they be excluded from your wedding festivities? We love the idea of including your fur baby on the most important day of your life. Today we’ll be looking at some fun ideas to treat your dog with the love they deserve!
First and foremost, what will your dog wear? Some brides and grooms prefer to remain traditional and dress their pups in a tie, or, in the ladies case, a veil! But if you’re not into doggie clothes, consider a beautiful floral collar or crown. Their leash can also be covered in foliage or flowers. Another adorable idea is a handprinted sign or bandana around their necks pronouncing “Dog of Honor”! All of these options guarantee smiles from your guests and fun, fabulous photos.

Companies like Completely Mutts and Hairy Dog Salon will pick up your pet, groom him to perfection and dog sit during the event, ensuring he is well fed, comfortable and taken care of. Your dog should be treated just as well as your human friends and family, if not better, so make sure he gets a nice bath with lovely scented soaps and sprays, a chic haircut and a manicure/pedicure! Then he’s ready to walk down the aisle and partecipate in the best day of your life. He could even bring the rings down the aisle with a special pillow!
Your photographer should also be pleased to include your pet in some memorable shots. His presence will lighten the mood and create fantastic pictures that you will cherish. Try layering your hands one on top of the other with your dogs paw on top. Or try balancing your rings on the tip of his nose – dangerous, yes, but a great shot nonetheless. A wedding album that includes your furry best friend is so much more special and meaningful.
Finally, don’t forget the special treats for fido. Your guests can take home doggy favors featuring gourmet snacks and fun accessories for their pet, surely a surprising and much appreciated detail at your wedding.
