Buongiorno! Today we have the beautifully intimate wedding of a fun couple, just for you, dear readers! Katy and Paul, along with their adorable 1-year-old, Wilfred, chose the Castello di Bibbione as the backdrop for their wedding. A medieval castle in the heart of Chianti once owned by Niccolò Machiavelli, it was clearly the perfect place to host their loved ones for the most memorable event of their lives.
Octobers’ drizzly rain would not erase the smiles off this couples’ faces – so clearly in love, they exchanged vows in a moving civil ceremony in one of the large rooms of the castle, completely unfazed by the wet weather outside. Katy was radiant in a glittering lace sheath, paired with sparkly Jimmy Choo’s and a crystal headpiece. Paul was also dashing in a classic blue suit and red tie. They accessorized with a white umbrella!
A feast followed, boasting delicious local delicacies. Round tables were bedecked in ivory linens and decorated with arrangements of rosemary, white lisianthus, lavender, grapes and lemons, creating an elegantly rustic mood. A sprig of rosemary adorned each place setting, tied with a simple grosgrain ribbon. After dinner, the chef surprised everyone by creating, in front off their very eyes, a traditional Italian wedding cake, the delicious millefoglie – layers of puff pastry and cream, covered with fresh strawberries and powdered sugar.
In a corner of the castle, a fun Photo Booth was set up for friends and family to let loose and take some silly pictures! There were antique chairs, picture frames, vintage suitcases, a typewriter and an old-fashioned phone to lend a vintage-chic vibe to the area. Dancing was a must and the dance floor was illuminated overhead by hanging candles and disco lights. Old wine barrels lined the walls, lending a true Tuscan feel. Everyone danced, of course, into the early hours, enjoying the end of a beautiful day.
Best wishes Katy and Paul – we hope the rain brought you luck and happiness in your life as husband and wife!
