Happy June, brides and grooms! We have such a treat for you today, the real wedding of a gorgeous couple filled with the most perfect flowers you could lay your eyes on! Wedding color palettes tend to fall into the “white”, “neutral” or “pastel” varieties, so when Emma and Derek, from the UK and South Africa respectively, came to us with “hot pink”, we were overjoyed! It is always fun to break the mold and think out of the box once in a while, isn’t it? Combine bright, happy tones with a gorgeous villa and sweeping views and you’ve got yourselves one fabulous wedding!
Derek and Emma were a lovely couple to work with; Derek is such a nice guy, while Emma is super sweet. We really had a blast organizing their May wedding at Villa di Artimino. Emma got ready in the bridal suite with her four bridesmaids and mother, where the atmosphere was harmonious and happy. The bridesmaids wore super chic hot pink satin sheaths with a fashion-forward peplum waist and jeweled belt. They carried the most perfect fuchsia roses (so perfect they almost look fake!), dotted with green leaves. The look was complemented by the groomsmens’ matching hot pink ties and fuchsia rose buttonholes. Andrea Floral Atelier created the amazing bouquets and arrangements, truly showcasing his talent for creating beautiful blooms.
Speaking of beautiful blooms, we can’t forget about the bride! Emma’s bouquet was a stunning spring mix of white roses, peonies, ranunculus, tulips and berzillia berries, while her dress was a whirl of organza, lace and jewels. Derek was a true Prince Charming in his blue suit and white tie, waiting for his bride in front of the grand staircase for the ceremony. Framed with arrangements of white and cream stock, the view was breathtaking and after the vows were made, the father of the bride grabbed the guitar and serenaded the couple with a song he wrote for his daughter. The moment was magical, to say the least.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious hour of cocktails and local specialties made by the villas’ wonderful chefs. Once photos were taken outside, the Sala dell’Orso was opened for dinner. Round tables and a stunning top table were decorated with gold candelabras accompanied by white hydrangeas, roses and gold tea lights. The atmosphere remained elegant, warm and convivial and as the last course was finished and the last speech made, the grand entrance of an enormous American-style tiered wedding cake was presented to the delight of all. Decorated with those famous, perfect fuchsia roses and strings of shimmering Swarovski crystals, it was the perfect way to begin the after-party, with a champagne toast and first dances opening the floor to all revelers until the wee hours.
Thank you, Derek and Emma, we wish you all the best in your new marriage!
