Ciao and Happy November! Today we are celebrating autumn with the sweetest Irish couple, Lisa and Rory, who chose both the city and hills of Florence to say “I Do” with their loved ones in tow. They chose a stunning baroque style church in the center of Florence, San Filippo Neri. The beautiful ceremony was made especially touching with a candle lighting tribute in memory of both of their brothers who passed prematurely. After saying their vows, the bride and groom jaunted around Florence for pictures within its ancient walls, meeting guests at an Irish pub in Piazza della Signoria for a celebratory pint!
After some fun at the pub, everyone headed to the elegant Castello di Vincigliata for the reception. A huge buffet of finger food and cocktails greeted everyone’s happy, yet empty stomachs. As a surprise to all, they then gathered in the garden to release 120 white balloons in honor of the aforementioned brothers. Everyone made their way to the veranda for dinner after the touching tribute. The round tables were decorated with gold candelabras covered with trailing green ivy and vases of white hydrangeas and roses at the base. Gold chairs and champagne linens added to the magical mood. A talented tenor then surprised everyone with beautiful music during dinner.
After dinner a delicious millefoglie was prepared live by the pastry chef and was cut by Rory and Lisa to the tunes of “That’s Amore”. Music started pumping and, after the first dance, everyone got down until dawn! It was truly a fun ending to a fabulous wedding full of surprises!
Would you make a stop at the pub before your reception? Do you like the idea of having singers entertain guests during dinner? We want to hear your thoughts!
Have a great weekend!
