Ciao beautiful brides and grooms! Today we have lovely Tuscan abbey wedding of another beautiful couple to share with you. Riccardo and Kate, Italian and English respectfully, chose a suggestive abbey called Badia a Morrona, tucked into the hills around Pisa for their special day.
The emotional ceremony took place in the small church near the abbey and was performed in two languages. Framing the door of the Tuscan church was an abundant installation of seasonal plants and white flowers, creating a dramatic entrance. Inside, a purple runner with yellow rose petals led towards the altar which was framed by two large urns on stone columns filled with white flowers and greenery. After the ceremony, guests were invited into the cloisters of the abbey for a first celebratory toast to the newlyweds. Once all the group photos were snapped, they made their way to pool garden where a rich buffet of specialties from the grooms’ home of Emilia Romagna was served alongside cocktails.
A fantastic jazz band entertained guests all the way through to dinner, which was decorated in front of the Tuscan villa. To the delight of many, the groom started the meal with a very fun speech that had everyone giggling. The round tables were decorated with crystal candelabras and small vases of white and ivory flowers. The strawberry-covered millefoglie cake was cut next to the pool and, after the first dance, guests joined the couple on the dance floor to the rhythm of a rock band.
As a gift to all those invited to celebrate their wedding, the mother of the groom personally prepared the favors. The bottles of balsamic vinegar and homemade liquor were decorated with paper flowers and accompanied by small tulle pouches of traditional Italian confetti, or sugared almonds.
What kind of wedding in Tuscany do you dream of? We’d love to hear from you!
